Description
This seriously delicious sautéed cauliflower is hands down one of my favorite easy, flavor-packed veggie sides. Fresh cauliflower florets, melted cheddar cheese, garlic powder, paprika, a little butter and a splash of water.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 medium head cauliflower (about 800 g / 28 oz)
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/3 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese*
Instructions
- Wash and cut the cauliflower into small, bite-sized florets for quick and even cooking.
- Heat a large pan over medium heat. Add the cauliflower and a splash of water. Lower the heat slightly, cover, and steam for 5–6 minutes until just tender and the water has evaporated.
- Add the butter, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat, then spread the florets into a single layer. Cook without stirring for 2 minutes at a time to get that golden, caramelized color.
- Turn off the heat and sprinkle the cheddar over the top. Toss gently, cover for 1 minute to let the cheese melt, then uncover and season to taste.
- Enjoy warm as a cozy, cheesy veggie side!
Notes
- Swap the cheddar for freshly grated parmesan for a stronger cheese flavour.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Reheat in the air fryer for about 5 minutes to keep it crisp, or warm in the oven at 180°C/350°F for 5–7 minutes. The microwave works too, though the cauliflower will soften more.
