    These parmesan crusted air fryer frozen brussels sprouts are the easiest side dish to whip up. Use the air fryer to make perfectly crispy roasted frozen brussels sprouts in just 15 minutes!

    Calling all my brussels sprout lovers. These delicious little bombs literally explode with flavour in your mouth (no pun intended HA!). 

    Roasting frozen brussels sprouts is the perfect short cut solution to meal prepping! You can easily make a double or triple batch at one time. In fact the best way to make brussel sprouts in the air fryer is to use frozen brussel sprouts. 

    They only take 15 minutes and we coat them in a simple parmesan crumb coating for the most delicious side dish to really UP the flavour. They are so addictive OMG! Since they are frozen, they cook faster too and are less likely to burn.

    Ingredients you’ll need:

    All you need to make this air fried roasted vegetable side dish are 6 simple ingredients:

    • Frozen brussels sprouts 
    • Parmesan cheese (or vegan cheese)
    • Salt + pepper
    • Garlic powder
    • Olive oil or avocado oil cooking spray

    What is the best way to cook brussel sprouts in the air fryer?

    The best way to cook brussel sprouts in the air fryer is to use frozen brussel sprouts! This is because air fried frozen brussels sprouts cook more evenly than fresh, take less time and you don’t have to prepare them before cooking

    Fresh brussels sprouts dont air fry as well. The little leaves easily burn and the air fryer basket needs to be shaken often, which can be time consuming.

    How to cook air fryer frozen brussels sprouts

    Open the bag of frozen brussel sprouts directly into an air fryer basket lined with baking paper. Turn the air fryer to 160°C/320°F and set it for 15 minutes.

    After 4 minutes, take the basket out of the air fryer and remove the sprouts. Slice the larger size ones in half (leaving any baby sized ones intact). 

    Add to a bowl and spray with oil, sprinkle with seasonings and parmesan cheese. Shake or stir everything to evenly coat.

    Place back in the basket and return back to the running air fryer.

    Remove from the air fryer and serve hot with your favourite dipping sauce.

    How to cook frozen brussels sprouts in the oven

    Place frozen brussels sprouts directly into a baking tray lined baking paper. roast in an oven preheated to 180°C/350°F for about 6-8 minutes to soften.

    Remove the sprouts from the oven. Slice the larger ones in half (leave any baby sized ones as is). 

    Add to a bowl and spray with oil, sprinkle with seasonings and parmesan cheese. Stir everything to evenly coat.

    Bake for a further 12-15 minutes or until golden.

    Serve with your favourite dipping sauce and enjoy!

    Tips

    The perfect cooking time for frozen brussel sprouts depends on the size of the brussel sprouts: 

    • For baby sized frozen brussel sprouts, follow the directions above.
    • For larger frozen brussel sprouts, slice in half after partially cooking (before adding seasonings).

    Store leftover roasted brussels sprouts in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the air fryer or oven at 160°C/320°F until warmed through.

    Ingredients

    • 1 bag (500g/ 1 lb) frozen Brussels sprouts
    • Olive oil spray*
    • ¼ cup finely grated parmesan cheese
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ¼ teaspoon black pepper


    Instructions

    1. Open the bag of frozen brussel sprouts directly into an air fryer basket lined with baking paper. Turn the air fryer to 160°C/320°F and set it for 14 minutes.
    2. After 4 minutes, take the basket out of the air fryer and remove the sprouts. Slice the larger size ones in half (leaving any baby sized ones intact). 
    3. Add to a bowl and spray with oil, sprinkle with seasonings and parmesan cheese. Shake or stir everything to evenly coat.

    Notes

    • Use 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil if you don't have spray.
    • Store leftover roasted brussels sprouts in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
    • Reheat in the air fryer or oven at 160°C/320°F until warmed through.
    • Oven method: bake at 200°C/350°F for about 20 minutes, following the instructions above.

        Hi Natalie, I served them with a spicy tahini sauce (tahini, sriracha, lemon, maple syrup, garlic, yogurt). Will try get the recipe for the sauce on the blog soon:)
